Is it good time for indian sports??? Right now it's certainly is !!!
Many people still don't know that India has football team that has potential to do well at the Asia level. Hopefully, everyone (including me) realise that after the Nehru cup win.
It's "Chak de" season for Hockey. This sport produced blockbuster on the field and in the theatres as well. Asia cup has been good tournament for the team. They scored goals in plenty, with the highest score being 18-0 ( if I recall correctly). Women were not very far behind, they ended the same tournament as semi-finalists.
Though "Chak De" is for the Hockey, it was almost grabbed by Cricket. T20 world cup has been 'something else' for the Indian team. It was wonderful to watch our team perform so well after long time. And the final was something out of this world. India Vs Pakistan in world cup final, you can't ask for more. This match lived upto it's expectations. After pulsating contest, India emerged as the T20 world champions (it's pity that I could not witness the 2nd half of the match, reason being power failure!!!!). Now, India has enviable 7-1 record against Pakistan in World championships.
One more jewel goes into the crown of Viswanthan Anand. This grand master is a World champion now.
But how long will they be able to carry on this winning form???? That's a million dollar question. Hope they do so for very very long time.

Hmmm, nice piece of info, Sreedhar. The point of Cricket-fans grabbing the so-called slogan, 'ChakDe India' is worth mentioning. I must rather say, stolen from a movie meant for Hockey !!!!
chalo anyways, worth mentioning though is the united spirit of Indians on the subject 'Cricket'. Hope to see this in each every field.
Sreedhar one point which I want to make,can you write something else that this sports.
As far as i know u travel a lot and will have lot of experiences to write.Please share those memories man....
